What is the location setting used for?
Adding a location to your account settings helps us guide you to communities that are active in that area. Whether it’s your home base or somewhere you’re visiting, adding a location can help you engage with folks who have similar interests or who can teach you something new!
Can other users see where I’m located?
No. The location you add to your settings will be hidden - no one will be able to see it and you can change it whenever you need to.
What will Clubhouse do with my location data?
We’re using the location information you enter to give you a more personalized experience on Clubhouse. The location you add will help us lead you to engaging communities in your area!
Do I have to add my location?
Not at all! This is a completely optional setting to help personalize your experience.
I’ve added my location, but I’m not seeing recommendations for communities in my area.
We’ll be launching location-based houses soon, at which point you may start receiving recommendations. Even after launch, there’s no guarantee there will be interesting houses for you in your area – so if you don’t see any you’ll be able to start one on your own!
How can I add or update my location?
You can add, update and remove your location from the Settings menu in the app!
To add your location:
1. Navigate to your user profile.
2. Tap the Settings menu at the top right of your screen.
3. Tap your Name / Username at the top.
4. Tap location.
5. Type in your city or postal code.
6. Tap your location.
To update your location:
1. Navigate to your user profile.
2. Tap the Settings menu at the top right of your screen.
3. Tap your Name / Username at the top.
4. Tap in the search field and clear the currently selected location.
5. Type in your new location.
6. Tap your new location.
To remove your location:
1. Navigate to your user profile.
2. Tap the Settings menu at the top right of your screen.
3. Tap your Name / Username at the top.
4. Tap remove location at the bottom of the screen.
