There are a few features we have built into our Under 18 profiles to make sure that teens stay safe while using Clubhouse:
Protected Profiles
When a teen signs up for Clubhouse, they are automatically opted into having the Protected Profile toggle turned on. The Protected Profile toggle allows a user to approve any person who wishes to follow them, allows only a user’s followers to see their rooms, clubs, and replays on their profile, and makes them less visible to strangers on Clubhouse in general.
While we strongly discourage turning off this feature, our teen users do have the option to go into their settings to opt out of this feature. Head over here to learn more about protected profiles
Teen & Adult User Interactions
- Teens and adults are restricted from being in private rooms together.
- Teens can only send/receive direct messages from people they are connected with on Clubhouse.
Mature Content
When a teen signs up for Clubhouse, they are automatically opted into having adult/mature content restricted from their hallway. We use internal algorithms that we regularly audit to ensure that things don’t get too spicy. If you find mature rooms in your hallway that you think we might have missed, please give us a heads up!
